Two bugs - setting up stripe and editing a game

I seem to have encountered two bugs, not sure if this is the best place to report them

  • When I try and set up stripe, it doesn’t let me choose any location other than Australia
  • Once I have uploaded a game, it doesn’t let me edit it because it’s already published. I’m not sure if the intention is for you to not be able to edit something once it’s been published, or if it’s because I haven’t had two games approved yet - if so the UI is a bit confusing.

I’ll see what’s going on there - likely just a setting we need to update on Stripe’s side.

Or you could just move to Australia - might be the easier option :person_shrugging:

This is likely due to the fact that you aren’t approved yet, so once you have two published games that won’t be an issue anymore. It’s not intentional though - you should be able to edit your games while they’re under review (and after they’re published, of course). Will look into that and get it fixed.

We’re in the process of removing Stripe Connect as a payout option because of this limitation. After working through it all, we have established that while we could enable seller onboarding outside of Australia, we would never be able to send payouts to other countries. Stripe doesn’t allow cross-border payouts outside certain regions, and unfortunately Australia is one of the regions excluded.

You don’t need to change anything on your side if you have already attempted the Stripe Connect onboarding - we’ll remove all of those details from our side.

When it comes to payouts, PayPal is (for now) going to be the only available option. You will have options for manual or scheduled payouts, so you can set and forget, just leaving the payouts to run on your schedule, or request manual payouts whenever you’d like.

Once this is all finished and live, we’ll update the documentation to reflect it.

We’d like to be able to add other payout options, so we will continue investigating those to see what will work well for RPG Trader.

To circle back on all this:

As noted above, Stripe Connect has been removed from the payout options because Stripe doesn’t support cross-border payouts from Australia. Anyone who already attempted the onboarding has been removed from the RPG Trader Stripe Connect account, so everything has been cleaned up there.

PayPal remains as the only payout option (with manual and scheduled payouts), and we are actively exploring alternatives to be able to provide more options.

This has been resolved - you can now update a product that you have submitted for review and it will remain in the review queue.
