There are times when you may want to order your own products, such as when you want to confirm the print quality and layout of your physical books.
There is no requirement to order a copy of your books, but you are welcome to do so if you wish, paying cost price + shipping to receive the book.
This is a great idea to ensure that your printing comes out the way you expect, but if your funds are tight, you are not required to do this.
Product pricing
When ordering your own products, all digital items are free to purchase, and books will automatically be reduced to cost price at checkout.
Ordering a proof copy
All authors and collaborators of any product are able to order their digital products for free and physical books at cost price + shipping.
Simply add your product to your cart and go through checkout. The cost will be discounted down to cost price for any physical books from products where you are the author or a collaborator.
To make sure that only authors and collaborators can order a particular book, simply create a new tier with that book included, and select the checkbox to only allow authors and collaborators to purchase it:

As an author or collaborator, you can purchase products of your own that still in the draft or under review statuses, allowing you to test the checkout flow and order proof copies of your products before you expose it to customers.
Additionally, all of your own products (where you are an author or collaborator) will automatically be free for digital products and reduced to cost price for physical books:
