After the great disaster, the landscape changed forever. Craters smoked where forests once stood, and mountains crumbled into deserts. Waters rose and sinkholes opened beneath the cities of the ancient ones. Out in the wilderness, the waters that drowned the ancient city grew verdant and teeming with life; a thriving swamp. Over the centuries, silt and dirt settled on the roofs of the ruined buildings that barely broke the surface of the swamp; trees and other plant life took hold.
