Should I use the tier system or publish as two separate products?

So I have a product with a paid part and a free part. Should I publish them as the same product, then put them under different tiers, one free and one paid? This what I did. Or would it be better to make two separate products, one free and one paid?

The second gives more visibility I suppose, but can spam the product lists. On the other hand, now that I have different tiers, the product shows as “From $0”. I suppose this can be misleading, as the actual product is behind paywall, only the character playbooks are free.

That’s really up to you as the creator. What we generally recommend is one product with multiple tiers - the primary benefit of that is that you have one URL you can link people to, instead of two (or more, depending on your product), and it makes the buyer experience simpler.

If you would rather do separate products, though, then you’re welcome to do that.
