In-House 'Crowd-Funding' Options

One of the reasons I am using itch.io is that there is a somewhat well-known ‘hack’ for crowdfunding, called itch-funding. And it can kinda happen now, since it’s mostly about showing sales volume and setting a sales goal for a project.

That being said, I think for the feature to really be better than what itch has, it would be if multiple goals could be set for the product, and maybe a well-documented tag that could be used to help find games trying to crowd-fund using the in-house feature or something (though I guess finding ones that are crowdfunding in general could be cool as well).

This is currently possible on RPG Trader.

I like the idea of making crowdfunding a bigger feature on RPG Trader, for sure! Since crowdfunding is quite an involved process, and there are a lot of variables to take into account, it won’t be available soon. Rest assured that it’s on our general roadmap, though.

I still would love to see what your road map is looking like, even if it’s just a list of wishes xD

I did see the setting goals for purchases. I guess thinking more about it, it was the multiple goals, cause itch doesn’t even have that.

Like, if I could have a primary goal, with secondary goals afterward as stretch goals? Maybe that is what I was trying to get at.

We’ll put up a roadmap (or at least a list of planned/upcoming features) soon.

This is a great idea and a good way to look at it. When we start working on this feature, we’ll definitely keep this in mind.

We now have a feature-rich in-house funding platform on RPG Trader - you can set funding goals and work toward them with a visual progress bar.
